Philippines joined the pageant since its
inauguration in 1952 they have been absent from the pageant from 1958 to 1961.
One of the powerhouse pageant in Asia,
Philippines have produced two Miss Universe’s they are Gloria Diaz (Miss
Universe 1969) and Margarita Moran (Miss Universe 1973) besides from two crowns
they have been produced seven semifinalist two fourth runner up, four third
runner up and two second runner up last year their representative Janine
Tugonon placed First Runner Up the highest placement since Miriam Quiambao
placed with the same position in 1999.

still rooting for their third Miss Universe Victory, besides from placement in
the pageant they also awarded for having the Best in National Costume in 1994
and Have been the most awarded Miss Photogenic in the Pageant with Seven Awards
the first was in 1971 and two peak in 1996 and 1997 and three peat in 2005,
2006 and 2007
Philippines
strongest year was in the late 60’s throughout the early 70’s producing the two
Miss Universe’s. Philippines darkest decades was from 2000 to 2009 when for 10
years they never been placed.
