Two Countries Withdrew to Attend Miss Universe 2013 in Moscow, Russia



Miss Kosovo and Miss Albania withdraw to attend the Miss Universe 2013 to be held in Moscow, Russia. Mirjeta Shala who is Kosovo’s representative of this year’s Miss Universe will not attend due to political conflict, Russia did not recognize Kosovo as Independent country and so Shala is not able to enter the country. Fadil Berisha who is also the national director of Miss Universe in Albania will not send their delegate to the said event due to Kosovo not able to compete. They will be joining Andy Cohen who also withdrew to the hosting duties due to LGBT Rights in Russia. There have been eighty seven delegates confirmed to enter the pageant this year with returning countries Myanmar who last competed in 1961, Austria in 2004, Kazakhstan, Slovenia and Turks and Caicos who last competed in 2011.
